ExpenseBay Features Update
Posted on 05. Jan, 2010 by Dan Fritcher in News & Updates
We have been very busy at ExpenseBay and wanted to update you on our progress. Besides fixing bugs, we have added a bunch of new features based on your feedback and want to share them with you.
1. Remove Personal Transactions from Expense Reports – If you mark a transaction personal we now will automatically will remove it from any expense report it was in. Before you had to manually remove it from the report.
2. Remembering Personal Transactions – We have added a “Always Mark As Personal” button on all the transactions pages. When you select this, it will move the transaction(s) to the personal folder and add it to your user list for any future transactions so they are automatically placed in your personal folder. Any transaction with the same transaction ID will also be moved. So you only have to select it once and they are all moved!
3. Create Cash Transactions via Email. If you want to create a cash transaction, you can do so by sending an email to receipts@expensebay.com with the receipt image attached. Include the amount and merchant in the subject line – for example – 43.00 Yellow Taxi. This will create a cash transaction for $43.00, Merchant as Yellow Taxi, categorized as Ground Travel:Taxi and the transaction date will be when the email was sent.
4. Support for Multiple Cards. If you have a credit card account with multiple cards attached, we now allow you to select which cards you would like us to download and which ones to ignore.
5. Receipts – you can send receipts via email or through your camera phone to receipts@expensebay.com. You can add the merchant or a description in the subject line and we will add them next to the receipt image. Just make sure to send from the email address you use with ExpenseBay.
6. Employee ID – Added an Employee ID number to the My Profile sections
7. SaaS Integration – Support for Netsuite and Intacct – enterprise SaaS vendors. Now you can export your entire expense report (including receipt images) to your NetSuite or Intacct accounts. We will also kick off the approval process automatically for you.
8. Updated JavaScript on UI – Users should see faster response times and much richer graphics now.
9. Credit Card Provider – We have finalized our agreement with Yodlee who provides our credit card transaction data. Users should see real time data now and faster responses. Unfortunately all our existing beta users will need to re-supply their online username/pw as we switch over to their production system.
10. TripIt Integration – Soon you will be able import some of the metadata from your Tripit itinerary like To/From Airport Codes, ticket purchase dates, and travel dates. This information can be used to create reports based on your trips instead of weekly or monthly.
Here is what to keep an eye out for:
1. More integrations to SaaS companies who have expense managment feautres.
2. Report Page – Users have expressed a desire to very quickly edit thier reports directly from the Reports tab vs. having to go back to the transactions page. Users will be able to quickly see what metadata is missing like attendess, client ID, To/From, and be able to add directly from the report itself. Work on this has begun, you should see a big upgrade to our reports page over the next week.
3. iPhone – We finished our iPhone application and are going though the approvals for Apple. Not sure when they will grant this but were really exicited about this. We have also started on our BlackBerry native application and plan to have this by summertime.
Thanks again for all the feedback you have provided to us during out beta period. It is very valuable and we welcome any suggestions or ways to improve.
